I'm fairly happy with how I painted it, but I wonder how my topology is, as I have no work experience. Should I have taken the tris a lot lower? I'm wondering what the standard mobile poly count is nowadays.

I'm working on a Sci-Fi Mech Action Adventure game. What studios or artists are available for contract work that would be great at this Hand Painted 3D style? We need models, rigging, animation and of course textures. But we wanna stay true to the hand painted style. I feel it's so much more timeless and beautiful than most 3D texturing.

Submitted my entry to the Sketchfab weekly challenge (#GameBoyChallenge), having went with an antique wooden style. I experimented with using Zbrush first in an attempt to sculpt a detailed wood texture onto a high-res model, then used Substance Painter to bake some texture maps including the normal map to get the starting wooden scratches, base colours and general lighting. It ended up requiring a lot of manual hand-painting though which was done in 3D-Coat. Some colour and final adjustments were made in Photoshop. It took me many hours but I am quite happy with the final result.
