Awesome work! Is it okay if I can use some of these rig for my demo-reel? I will put you on a credit or do I have to ask valve for permission?
I'm not sure how that works, but I don't think you will have any problems using these on your demo-reels. Hell, I have dota animations on mine. I think you're good.
Man, this is incredible work!! I can't thank you enough, mate!
Quick and maybe dumb question.. I have a little problem getting the textures to work. I'm running Maya 2013 (educational) on osX. Is there a standard procedure to make the textures work properly?
Very cool stuff Andrew! I was hoping someone would do this, and I wouldn't have to rig all the cool toons I want to animate with myself, haha.
Anyways,I grabbed the master download, and can say that all the rigs do import to 2013 and for the most part are working awesome, but it seems like all the rotation pivots on the controls reset to world rotation instead of the pivot, making arms and hands and fingers especially difficult.
Not sure if that's just a bug for me, or all 2013 users but figured I'd let you know. Also it would be really super if anyone had an idea of how to fix it, at the moment I'm just re-parenting anything I need to locators with the correct orientation I want. Cheap fix.
Btw I gots a Drow rig if you'd want to add it to the list

Thank again! You rock!
It depends on the rig, some of the newer ones like the axe one I didnt apply the textures myself, so you'd have to do it yourself. On others I have used cgfx shader, so you might need to turn that plugin on in the manager before they activate. Then finally others have just standard lambert shaders on the textures. I've made sure to include the textures for the entire rig in the zip files.

Yea, I've recieve messages that some of them are like that, I dont think its an issue with 2013, just an error on my part, I have a list of a few that need fixing, just document whichever rigs you find that issue in so when I get some time I can go back and fix them.
Heya Andrew!
First of all, thank you so much for all of your work with rigging these guys up. The degree of control (OMG facial controls!) is absolutely amazing!

I'm having similar troubles with rotations being set to world space. I'm using Maya 2010, so it sounds like it might be an issue with any version of Maya before 2014.
I'm also getting a pretty gnarly error in line 83 of each of the files, here's the bit just in case anyone has any ideas of what it is:
*Added a new section to the character rig dump guide, guess you can't really call it that anymore though. New section is a tutorial on rigging a ward, at least my process on it. I plan on doing something similar for each individual animation for that ward. More to come, I'll update again once I get to that.
