We are nearing the final stage of production on our little UDK mod called Obsidian. We would love some critique, specifically on our lighting. These are simple screen grabs from viewport and have not been altered in any way. Cheers!
the scene looks great- I think it's just missing some designated speculars on objects and the floors, walls. The lighting- is good but if you want to push it more? you can add more warm and cool colors. on yeah one more thing, I think your ambient light is a bit low ( filler light ) the hanging lamps are bit dark.
I absolutely agree with ZacD. It should be brighter, you need some more bounce lighting! Also, it feels like an overcast day outside; the warmness that ZacD's paintover is adding really makes things shine. I wouldn't necessarily change the direction of the lighting though, the way the light and shadow play because of the pattern window is awesome.
See if you can't improve the material definition -- your glazed ceramic vases, lacquered tables, and curtains all have the same material. Get some specularity in there!
This scene has a bunch of really cool stuff in it, and I think with a push to the lighting and some of the materials it could be absolutely amazing!

1. lighting could be brighter/more contrasty
2. add some more small stuff!

Thank you for all the feedback!
Here is the final result. After posting the screenshots we agreed that the scene was too dark. Hopefully we balanced out the light a bit better.
