Modelling looks solid to me, I'm not expert but there's nothing glaring to me!
I don't know how literal you want to be with the viking aspects but spear seems odd to me, the shape of the tip (it looks like it's barbed for fishing but this is quite different to a viking fishing spear http://www.iforgeiron.com/uploads/500/med_VikingFishSpear1.jpg) and more the feathers feel like they belong to a native american character. I get the feathers are tying the weapon together with the owl but it isn't working for me.
Maybe you could incorporate a talon like shape to the spear tip or something else? Vikings made some quite ornate weapons and it would save it from being a bit of wood with metal on the end. Like this but with talons or wings perhaps? http://www.hanweidaojian.com/scart/public/database/product/images_sets/pr99img1.jpg
There's a viking exhibition at the British Museum at the moment which might be of interest if you're local!
Thanks islipaway, for your feedback - this is much appreciated!
The "Viking" theme is not meant historicaly though, this project is set in a fantasy world and is about as historicaly correct as God of War.
I stuck pretty close to the original concept (which is from Markus Lenz - he posted loads of stuff in this thread), since I really liked it a lot, and gotta say I especially dig the Inuit influences into our fantasy "Viking" tribe.
As I said earlier, I also really love the viking history and would love to do a historicaly correct character for a project like Kingdome Come, but this would be something completely different!

the only thing i disagree with personally, is the female's hair. it's not a hairstyle someone would do to go to battle.
Let me know what you think of the pose!
