you'll learn that dotaplayers take the names for their characters very serious :x
i wish you good luck with that, its looking great! though i feel the bird is too detailled/noisy
The eagle looks good, but as you can probably tell from the other comments, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to turn a bat into an eagle. Sure, you can go ahead with it, but you'll probably going to get torn to pieces when it's on the workshop.
I'd suggest you to follow beetrootChan's idea and using the eagle for Beastmaster's hawk.
We have Bat-meleon though? Though I think the success of "non-Bat" mounts relies of a merging of bat and another animal rather than a complete replacement. Losing the Bat wings is a huge deviation from the way it is recognised quickly in game.
As everyone is focusing on the eagle/bat issue, which I agree with, I'll comment in the hat. It looks great but it might cover up a bit too much of his face. Other than the portrait which the hat will still cover his eyes in, the view in game is top down 100% of the time. From that angle it looks like that huge lip on the hat will completely cover his face nearly always which is not good. There's a few items that obscure heroes' faces like masks that weren't on the hero originally but they still leave most of their face visible other than the mouth or eyes.
I'm not sure if you have played dota at all but it looks like you need to research the heroes a bit more before jumping into a set that changes so much about the hero. Maybe play a quick round as the hero and get to know their personalities and play styles a bit. Just as you wouldn't make a huge ice axe for Crystal Maiden you shouldn't make an eagle for a hero who's entire lore is based on bats and references his bat multiple times in his voice acting.
Based on all the posts above, and various other things, I've put the Batrider stuff on the back burner for a while and decided to focus on other things.
...Specifically, a Kunkka set. I know there's already a similarly-themed set already on the workshop, but I felt I could bring something different to the table with this one.
So it's sort of an arabian pirate themed kunkka or what? Looks good so far. ^^
Everything I've seen you do turned out amasing so I can't wait to see how this will turn out^^

i'd rather say indian, making it an interpretation of captain nemo kf the nautilus, i like!
Yep, some sort of Indian/Arabian something or other.

Yeah, I'm making a sword as well. I did a quick paintover before I got started so I could use it as a guide. Here's the concept/paintover:
And I've been doing a bit of retopo and baking. These are just unlit screens:
Still just base colors and some baked stuff. I haven't done any painting yet aside from some fairly opaque polypaint stuff for base colors and gradients.

Yeah, it's just a promo shot, so I don't really think it's extremely important to get a ton of water in there. The set is sort of Persian-themed, anyway, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense for there to be water flying everywhere even if he is a water-themed character.
saw this in the waywo thread, love this, its terrifying cause he looks like a flayed horse. Skull looks great as well. Be mindful of putting a bunch of detail that will be covered up with the riders legs etc. But if you want to just go crazy making cool glowing magma muscles i wouldnt blame you, hah

but yeah non-bat bats are not the most popular thing around

*Checks out Swizzle's art* Loving the cloth folds, are you doing a sword too?

Finally got it finished up and submitted.

Workin' on something new. Currently designing a mount for Chaos Knight.
I'm currently making an item set for Legion Commander. Going for something with a vaguely Roman/Greek feel.
I hope your working on this set doesn't mean the CK horse project is abandoned, I love that concept!
