WHAT YOU'LL DO:

* Hand-paint textures for 3D models for use in real-time games, especially environments but also including props, characters and creatures.
* Create textures for colorful, fun, stylized indoor and outdoor environments.
* Deliver high quality work on-time and within budget.
* Work within constraints set by the technology (texture sizes, transparency limitations, etc.).
* Take direction from the Art Director and Lead Artist and make changes as needed.
* work with engineers to ensure that your work is properly implemented into the game as well as incorporate work yourself in Unity game engine.
* Collaborate and iterate with a small, passionate in-house team crafting a fantastic new game for mobile and tablet devices.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

* 3+ years experience working on shipped game titles.
* Strong painting skills, especially working with stylized hand-painted textures (think Worlds of Warcraft, League of Legends, and Torchlight and you’ve got the right idea).
* An excellent understanding of color theory and lighting, and an affinity for architectural as well as natural environments.
* Basic knowledge of common 3D applications like 3DSMax (preferred) and Maya.
* At the very minimum, solid experience painting over unwrapped UV sheets. * Preferably, good skills doing the UV unwrapping yourself.
* Strong portfolio demonstrating an ability to work with a broad range of subjects and styles from realistically detailed to stylized.
* Strong passion for gaming.
* Strong cross-functional communications skills; verbal, written, and visual.
* Ability to take direction well and to play well with others. No prima donnas!
* A desire to grow your skills and experience.
* A terrific sense of humor.
* Must be available to work full-time at our offices in San Francisco, CA.
