Description
Unity Technologies are looking to hire an experienced 3D Artist to work on-site at their UK, Brighton studio. The role is a full-time, 12-month contract.
Successful candidates will be liaising with the Lead Artist in the creation of a range of 3D game environments, characters and product demonstrations in pursuit of the highest levels of visual and technical fidelity. You will be working in collaboration with our development teams around the world to produce realtime content that showcases the incredible power and versatility of the Unity engine, and releasing this to a worldwide audience.
Education and Relevant Experience:
3+ years of high-end CG production in game development.
Proficiency at both efficient hard-surface and organic modelling.
Meticulous eye for detail.
Excellent texturing skills.
Character rigging abilities are a benefit.
Portfolio showing examples of digital sculpting with ZBrush or Mudbox.
Demonstrated ability to maximise the visual impact of fast DX shaders.
Efficient unwrapping and UV layout skills.
Expert knowledge of Maya or 3DS Max.
Proven ability to work with and without reference.
Good knowledge of the Unity engine.
Goals and Responsibilities:
Maintain a consistent AAA+ standard of work throughout a varied range of 3D tasks.
Work autonomously alongside the Lead Artist, ensuring work is to-standard, optimal and game-ready.
Model, bake and sculpt hi-poly environment and character assets and re-topologise for realtime use.
Produce texture assets in a range of art-styles, to uncompromising next-gen standards.
Maintain solid organization of project files, and best-practises across projects.
Anticipate, communicate, and troubleshoot creative or technical issues with the Lead Artist and Project Manager.
Collaborate and articulately communicate with other team members around the globe to ensure the needs of all interested parties are met on-schedule and to the required standard.
Identify production issues and potential dependencies and notify accordingly.
Additional duties may be required.

Self-reliant, but with the ability to accept direction and professional criticism.
Background in traditional art techniques a bonus.
Great communicator and team player.
Keen critical eye and able to self-critique.
Strong organizational skills.
Flexible to change and able to shift focus between a range of tasks.
