never played the game but ive seen the concepts, maybe something got stuck in my head
its a doom sword, for a name was thinking either Igneous Brand/Glaive or Rock.
the texture of the blade part should be something like on this picture, its actually a cooled down magma, which forms this shape, called igneous rock or basalt.
Do you let other people try and model your designs? I'm a quite new artist and would love to try and model from your concepts to help me along, may I?

Was out of town so havent seen your first message. Anyway its great that you wanna learn, but ive had some other free stuff if you wanted to work on.
About the model, im not experienced in 3D only know some stuff from watching but as overall the shape is there, maybe you can cut out some polys from the top part and make the sides fatter and form the 3 cracks on the edges, also the armor bits should be closer. The dents can be made with sculpting in Zbrush, you should try it out if you havent.
So.. you can either continue to work on this as a practice or you scrap it while its early and i can paint you up some new stuff?

Sorry for hijacking the thread. You made great basemesh! how what you need to do is bring it in the Zbrush or some other sculpting program. There you can add detailing on the blade part and merge the armor bits near the handle in your mesh. After that, via some retopology magic you can turn the armor plating in one, solid chunk and add the slits via texture+normal. Also, some of the edge detailing could be done via alpha maps, much like one of the bounty hunter shurikens.

heres some concepts so far, need some feedback on the backpack and armor part, not sure which one to choose.
The shoulder has a nice shape to it but I feel it might end up being too clean ingame. Since it is a notable piece, I suggest adding more detail to it. Otherwise, really nice idea. That chest especially!
Pretty cool stuff! Bones and skulls won't fly in China, but I really dig that Warlock chest piece. I also really like the skull bag, despite that whole "no bones in china" thing.
thanks guys @Drywall yea, dunno for china but i had it as an idea that from the backpack bull skull he summons the golem. Also there are already some sets ingame with skulls so... i guess they are not available in china.

I really love the painterly style that you manage to get digitally! (particularly the Slark blades, prophet summons and the boar) any tips/tuts you could point us to?

well i usually use a round brush and play around with the pen pressure and eyedropper tool (while holding down alt key), but ill try to make a tutorial to show it more clearly

Updating with the bm summons vextrakt and I did for the monthly competition.
so the first wep is a corrupted radiance for doom, godzy is working on it, second is also a doom wep for nannou and the third skeleton king wep for mr pinkman

and a rubick cloak for the monthly comp, still in the making, this ones for vayne
So since almost everything is pretty damn awesome, and the guys have confirmed that, I'm just gonna list the things which I don't like which would be the pelican courier (too simple in the sense that it's a something I'd expect in a real life cartoon) and the first AM set (love the idea of defensive/aggressive side but not a big fan of the particular concept, especially the pants but also the demon faces )

well you should mostly practise your line and shape and try to keep it consistent, but there isnt a strict rule, you should draw as much as you can and youll see the results over time
