So I started this a few weeks ago when I had ALOT of free time at work due to waiting to get moved to another project. Done in max and rendered int he viewport with nitros (such an awesome real time renderer:poly122:)
Might get around to finishing up the rest of him but for now he on the back burner.
the arms, shoulders plus the hands are all rigged up so the pistons work I'll post something showing them in action soon.
I was working with some guys on the Terminator : Resistance UDK mod a few years back, that would have been a nice addition...too bad the project tanked.
Nice modelling, looks very clean. I feel you should revisit the face however as he looks a bit too pleasant and chipper at the moment. Pay close attention to the angles and shapes of the brow, jaw, cheek and nasal regions on the T-800. The design is so iconic you want to make sure to capture the sinister characteristics of it.

yeah he is looking a bit doopy, its mainly the angle of the shot plus the eye aren't posed looking towards you, but your right that he needs to be a but more angry.
So I lowering his brow to give him more of a frown and rotated his eye some.
sorry about the big gif file, I finally got around to doing some shoulder tests for rigging, the biggest problem will be the long tubes and how to avoid them clipping through objects.
This is looking really cool. I love the job you did on the rigging. Hard surface/robotic rigging escapes me, and I would love to see a breakdown of how you did the shoulders.

it's just a simple system of ' Look at' animation constraints together with the hose object for the wires.
the part that gets me annoyed is that it all gets broken if i parent one object that i forget to reset xforms on..this causes all kinds of warping and breaks the whole rig, leading me to have to redo the whole mess.

I just played around a bit with the look-at constraints. I used them before, but I never thought to use them like that. Super-cool.
And... I have been using Max for years and have never once touched or even heard of these magical "hose objects." Suffice it to say, my mind was blown. Thank you sir.
Maaan this is looking great!!! But am desperatly searching for T800 blueprint on the web, i can t find any, how did u manage to model it so perfectly? and if u have a blueprint, can u plz share it? thx!! Can t wait until i see the endoskeleton done!!!

But so far its excellent,
