Show reel for crit

My new show reel is up at http://youtu.be/YNUlMdlw7yE i would really be grateful for any feedback. Im probably going to be concentrating on sculpting in future months so will post a new sculpture centred one before the years out. Anyway any feedback would really help. Thank you

There's a lot of good stuff in there. I love the tire-based robot. You did a great job on the tooth fairy also.

Hey Vicker. I see you're off to a good start.

Even though the youtube title says "modeling reel", the reel itself is all over the place. You have animations, lots of animations. You have lighting, texturing and all kinds of stuff which frankly aren't any good.

You should adjust your reel to really focus on what it really is. Concentrate on turn tables to really show off your models and their wireframes. If you also want to add other stuff, pick only the absolutely best stuff and add them towards the end. And keep it short.

Anything that's not good, don't put it in your reel.

I agree with DireWolf. While watching your reel I was really confused on what aspect of CG you were showing off. I had to pause and look at your title to make sure you were a modeler.

Also I think your reel is way too long. You're getting close to 4 minutes.
I had my reel at 2 minutes and cut it down to 1:40 because I felt it was too long.

Not trying to be an asshole but, half way through your reel I had to pause it again to check how much longer its going to be. I was surprised it hadn't ended yet. When I saw I had another 1:30 to go, I just stopped watching.

Going to echo poly_bob and DireWolf. Identify exactly what you want to be and show your best work. Ive always been told you're only as good as the worst bit of your in your folio. Keep your reel short 1-2mins is more than enough

Great thank you ZASkaggs, DireWolf, poly_bob and jfeez. I was hoping to keep the reel short but fell in love with the music so extended it lol. But I will rework it once I have some zbrush sculpts to show also. I’m really after modelling work eventually, so will re jig it to display sculpts. What do you feel is my worst and best work of the reel?
