Senior 3D Environment Game Artist Opportunity @ Kabam

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

* Design, model and texture low-poly environments for use in real-time games.
* Create fantastic scenes for both indoors and outdoor environments, integrating both architectural elements and organic shapes.
* Craft hand-painted textures for colorful, fun, stylized environments.
* Deliver high quality work on-time and within budget.
* Work within constraints set by the technology (polycount limitations, texture sizes, etc.).
* Take direction from the Art Director and Lead Artist and make changes as needed.
* Assist in designing environment art pipeline, determining best tools and practices, etc.
* Both work with engineers to ensure that your work is properly implemented into the game and incorporate work yourself in Unity game engine.
* Lead and mentor teammates on pipeline and optimal methodologies.
* Collaborate and iterate with a small, passionate in-house team crafting a fantastic new game for mobile and tablet devices.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

* 5+ years of experience working on several shipped game titles.
* An excellent understanding of architecture, spatial layout, lighting, and visual composition.
* Ability to create scenes utilizing 3D environment and prop models, including UV set creation and painted texture maps utilizing Maya or 3DS Max and Photoshop.
* Possess a solid understanding of modeling for limited-poly, real-time game pipelines.
* Ability and experience in working within technical constraints of game engines and editors.
* Strong portfolio demonstrating an ability to work with a broad range of subjects and styles from realistically detailed to stylized.
* An affinity for architectural as well as natural environments.
* Solid knowledge of the technical aspects of level building and have constructed levels from start to completion.
* Strong passion for gaming.
* Strong cross-functional communications skills; verbal, written, and visual.
* Ability to take direction well and to play well with others. No prima donnas!
* A desire to share your skills, experience and feedback with others to elevate the overall skill level of the entire team and the fidelity level of the project: A natural mentor.
* A terrific sense of humor.
* Must be available to work full-time at our offices in San Francisco, CA.
