Help us spread the word about dDo & nDo by sharing our page and liking us on Facebook. We will be randomly giving away dDo & nDo licenses to lucky new followers and to those who help us spread the word about our products. We are working on some new surprises for you guys and also if you have not done so yet please check out the dDo v5/0 roll-out list of 170 new features. Thanks for the awesome support!
Thanks for sharing the page and information guys. We always are looking for feedback and critiques as well as praise of course but we are here to make a better tool for you all so please lay it on us with things that really bother you with our tools. We want to hear what you have to say and see if they are issues that we can resolve and address as well.
Main request I have is dDo to have tilable texture support, which Teddy said will come soon with new material editor? ..and proper up to date documentation.

Not entirely sure if you have done this already but for dDo;
Iterative batch processing.
Create many variations of the same texture by incrementing (layers/functions/).
So lets say you want several crates made with differing levels of damage. Once you have the base material sorted in dDo, It then creates variations of that material by automatically changing user chosen options such as dirt level or scratches etc. So the user chooses what they want to increment and what they don't
You can easily process out more unique "crates" for different areas within the environment and as they are low key props they won't need much if any refining as the user can simply choose the best of them.
This is pretty much like selecting the best "seeds" that are defined by the layers/functions in dDo.
This process could easily be used with the likes of low impact media, pillars crates anything that is reused often could be made unique in a quicker fashion.
I know this practice would hardly be resource friendly but i think we're past that issue with the newest gen about to open up.
So TLDR:
Iterative batch processing.
-Based off user chosen layer/function/filters
-Incremental process, (option to reverse increment)
-Create "X" number of texture variations.
Option 2:
This may be born from ignorance of the program but;
Custom decals or custom creation of layers/functions/filters?
Say you want blood on objects, bring in a set of decals and have it so the user can alter the density/amount of them painted.
Other than that i really can't think of anything else right now. I'm still a kid in a candy shop haha.
Thanks for the feedback I won't respond to it all myself but we are reading them and implementing what we can to help out. Teddy will reply to some of the suggestions and feedback as well when he has time. Keep it coming guys and thanks for helping us make better tools.
I've been using nDo2 quite a bit lately and it seems like sliders dont work very well with Wacom Pen input? almost like if they ignore me trying to adjust them. No big deal really.
We just released a 1½ hour tutorial covering dDo 5.0. Check it out and share it if you like it! Next up: what would you like to learn more about in our upcoming guides?
I'd really like to see a quick tutorial on how dDo handles normals with normals that need to be flipped in Y for the engine. I've seen that you can invert Y for the previewer but will that mean that your exports also have Y flipped etc?
Also I wonder if there is any way that dDo could somehow integrate crytif into it's export?

You want some critique?
I'd like to buy your tools. Unfortunately you don't care about Mac versions, which is a shame.
Nowadays, most software is cross platform. Maya, Unity, 3Dcoat, Topogun, Photoshop, Zbrush, Mudbox etc.
Having only a Windows version is not the best business move, with more and more people working on Macs. Especially after the dreadful release of Windows 8.
That is my critique But maybe you guys want limit your sales.

We are looking into Mac versions, hopefully not to much longer .
Here is one which is a quite good measure.
As you can see the Mac usage increases slowly but steadily. Sure it is not the majority, but it's almost 10%. More than Windows 8 has.
But don't let's turn that into a pointless debate about Macs There is definitely a desire for Mac versions of nDo and dDo.
Thanks for the support guys and since you really are limited to liking us on Facebook which is limited to being a member. Why not just throw you guys a bone too well here is the bone.
We are happy to announce that we have heard the cries from the community on documentation and are proud to give you one of the first of many guides. We have documented and setup a user manual for dDo! We hop that you enjoy it and are open to any feedback you might have. We will soon be integrating these into our product packages and websites. For now we hope that you enjoy it as is.
I'd love a free key for dDo for home (wishful thinking, I'm too slow), we'll be getting it a work soon anyway. My brother commented "why haven't they been texturing like this years ago?"
man, dDO is awesome, but is there an OS normal export option somewhere? I'm not seeing one
I don't think that is possible with dDo, combining height maps/tangent space normals and object space normals presents a lot of problems (I'm sure its doable, its just not trivial).
Are you still using OS for everything dude? Why not just make sure your engine is synced with your baker? Synced TS normals offer pretty much the same quality as OS, except they are more flexible and easier to manage content wise. Easy to add extra details, mirroring/instancing is way easier, usually compresses better, etc.
Quixel is working around the clock to bring you a massively revamped nDo & dDo based on all great feedback coming in.
Leaner, meaner, faster... soon yours!
Looking great. I've been following some dDO tutorials recently and it seems to be quite useful.
A couple days ago I wanted to buy a dDO license but I was tired and accidentally bought another nDo2 license (already had one). I hope Quixel can help me fix this so I can start playing around with dDO soon! (the license I bought was a nDO2 freelance one, which is the same price as the dDO non-commercial one, which is the one I wanted...)

was curious to see the whole list, but i cannot find it on the facebook page.

I can't wait till the next release from you guys! Any hints?
At anyrate when i graduate in july, these are on my buy list straight after i sort a job and house out bahaha.
Christ i sound like a fanboy ;')

Also, more of a bug I guess: My nDo2 takes like 5 minutes to load. That was not the case a couple of versions down.

That would be really great, because your tools looking really neat:D
Best graduation present I'm gonna get methinks. I'll definitely be looking to use it in my next piece!
Thanks again!
Is there empirical data to support this claim?
