Hi there,
I am new to the forums. Great place.
Anyways, I have run into a problem, basically, I am using Maya Physical Sun and Sky to Render out my scene, which is a tree house, in a tree, type scene. I at first had a problem with everything being to bright in the scene, but figured it out, by adding a Gamma Correct node to all of my textures in the scene, via the Hypershade.
But, when I add a Gamma correct node in the Hypershade, to every regular texture lets say, it is fine. But if I add it to a texture lets say that is transparent with a a alpha map on it (the leaves on the tree in my scene) It adds it fine, but, my texture ends up "filling in" basically not being transparent anymore but becoming solid, with the leaves sitting on top of the filled in plane.
So I am wondering, how can I add this Gamma Correct without my alpha map texture being affected and stay transparent??
It might be easier to see my problem in the images below:
Images in order:
1. This is how it is suppose to look, with transparency on the leaves, not showing the plane around it.
2. This is normal and how it looks in the hypershade, note the texture being transparent.
3. I add the Gamma Correct node, - Go - File texture > Gamma Correct (choose value) > then Gamma Correct to the Lambert/transparent looking texture (choose - color) Notice how it turns dark and goes solid. Not transparent anymore.
4. The image showing what happened, you can now see the plane around the leaves, which it is suppose to be transparent and only showing the leaves. It is normal to be blurry while doing these correction. But anyway the leaves render like this too....with the plane showing after doing the above.
Any help please, I greatly appreciate it!
Thank you!!

For some reason, it doesn't show up when it's the default quality renderer
