One of the last modules we have been given this year is to create a Dinosaur in order to model, texture, rig and animate, eventually presenting it within UDK.
Personally I do not aspire to be a Character artist however this is a core module.. I aim to follow my main passion which is Environment Art (my Dissertation scene can be found here:

I have learnt some things from doing a small piece of character art though and always think it's good to look for feedback, so I'd greatly appreciate any advice you could give me with this particular piece!
We were encouraged to create something that leaned more towards 'interesting' rather than 'realistic' when it came to colours and patterns.

Thanks in advance for any comments, greatly appreciate the time you take to give feedback!

But if accuracy wasn't your focus, it's very good. Though I suggest making the eyes stand out more. with the red pattern surrounding the eye sockets, the eyes are hard to make out. the arms could be moved further down and blend in more with the body. Raptors didn't have such wide shoulders.
Here are a couple of pieces that I looked at early on when I was working on the sculpting stages:
I do however think some of your points are still very valid! Looking at the tail I think it should be longer than it is, I will be creating a more appealing pose (such as pointing the tail up) when the model is rigged. I will work on the eyes as I agree they blend too much with the markings, possibly a brighter yellow or a different colour all together.. The shoulders were a choice to make him look more bulky but I think you have a point that they should blend more with the body rather than jolting straight out!
