Graphics card for UDK

My price range is between £150-£250 for a new graphics card. My fps atm in a blank udk editor is 35 which is...bad.

I am pretty out of touch with hardware since i built my pc 3 years ago so im wondering if anyone can help me out with pointing where to go?

If I'm not mistaken, the default in-editor FPS is capped at around that.

In any case, a GeForce 550ti will set you back about £90 and do the job nicely.

I am working with a friend on the same level and his fps is like 70 more than mine just in a blank scene

Are you sure about the in-editor FPS cap? After reading this I decided to fire-up UDK to see what I'm getting and it's a solid 120FPS when running a blank level.

Atm i have:

Xfx Ati Radeon Hd 5770

Is this the cause of 35fps in a blank scene?

Grab a GTX 560, I'm running 2 of them and its been great, perfect for your price budget to.
