Tripmine studios team is looking for talented individuals who would help us with the development of Operation Black Mesa (Remake of Half-Life: Opposing Force) and/or Guard Duty (remake of Half-Life: blue shift).





About Operation Black Mesa

As already stated, OBM is a complete remake of Opposing Force for Source engine. Our goal is to bring this experience back, with enhenced gameplay, better visuals and use advantage of technologies Source offers to improve every aspect of the original game, including the storyteling.

Features:

  • As a total conversion mod, Operation Black Mesa aims to be composed custom content entirely.
  • All original maps re-created and re-envisioned for better realism and gameplay.
  • Some maps are enlarged / extended to create a more lengthy and immersive experience.
  • Improved AI, making enemies smarter and combat more dynamic.
  • More enemy encounters to keep the action fresh.
  • Scripted scenes with all the original Opposing Force characters to help bring the story to life.
  • Textures and models pushing the limits of the Source engine, to bring you as much artistic detail as possible.
  • New voice acting, new sound assets and a new soundtrack.
  • Multiplayer, which may (or may not) contain various game modes.

Help Wanted


Our team is looking for talented individuals, who are skilled enough and are up to great team work aboard our team full of awesome people. Here is a list of the positions we would like to fill, but you can apply for any other position! Please note that we are not accepting playtesters, music composers, webdesigners or PR related people.

3D Artist
3D artists design and create 3D models (i.e. props, weapons, characters etc.) at our request.

Requirements:
  • At least one year of modelling experience
  • Ability to create low-poly models with UVW-maps
  • Ability to provide high-poly models for generating normal maps
  • Ownership of suitable modelling software, such as 3Ds Max, Maya, Zbrush etc.
Concept Artist (SP and MP)
Tripmine Studios is looking for skilled artists ready to design a good amount of solid reference artwork (environment, characters, other) for level designers and 3D artists alike.

Requirements:
  • Efficient, fluent and creative drawing skills in order to deliver useful material on demand
  • Ability to take criticism, using it to improve your work, but also giving suggestions and feedback to other members
  • Familiarity with Half-Life: Blue Shift, Half-Life: Opposing Force and other games within the Half-Life (1) universe
Particle Artist
As a particle artist, you are required to deliver particle effects created in the Source Particle Editor at our request.

Requirements:
  • Established operating experience with the Source Particle Editor
  • Good communication skills, accepting feedback from fellow team members and improving your work based on it
  • Ability to deliver specific effects on request
Level Designer (SP and MP)
We are looking for creative level designers able to craft levels for the single player as well as multiplayer component.

Requirements:
  • Expert knowledge of Source SDK's Hammer Editor, its I/O system and optimization techniques
  • Ability to build aesthetically appealing, yet gameplay stimulating environments
  • Good communication skills, accepting and giving valuable feedback
