Hello, I've been practicing 3d art for 1 month and 2 weeks now, I did some work a few years ago but stopped due to various reasons but now I'm back and eager to improve. Critique is welcome for future improvement.
No reference used, just trying to get a feel for Zbrush
More head practice, I tried to use reference for this one but I don't understand the structure of the skull/face yet.
I love doing cartoon style models, so here is one of Spongebob, first I sculpted in Zbrush and polypainted to see how it would look -

A couple of models..I try to complete a project every time I have free time.
And my very latest - Studying anatomy...It's confusing
On this face I tried following reference but I can't see any land marks to go from...need more practice - doesn't help that I find humans so boring and get distracted and doodle.
Anatomy for Sculptors
Thanks, someone showed it me a few days ago but thanks for taking the time to reply.
Modeled two assets today first -
Post office box
I'm not happy with how the top part came out, it looks like it's all plastic/melted (smoothing groups) but I'll learn from that mistake.
Second asset - a Street light
After texturing the light part of this asset I discovered a better way to texture the metal parts of it, which is why there's a mismatch in texture quality wont make the same mistake again.

I did this for a 3 week challenge, I did it in 2 days which resulted in poor quality but I got to test out a few things I've learnt and I'll make another full body character again later.
Not really happy with this, I didn't use reference and wish I did. I find it hard to find good reference for faces.
This is my attempt at the previous noob challenge but never got around to finishing the lighting.
This is my most recent piece, I used the reference of a dwarf and used a bit of my imagination.
Does anyone know any good websites with human faces on?
Thought I'd try using spot light to paint the reference I was using onto this sculpt to see how everything matched up. The eyes were a bit off and so was the mouth.
Thanks - Ah! I remember downloading it from here, some kind person took tons of pictures of it and let anyone download it but I completely forgot about it. I'll be sure to use it from now on, thanks.
It's you! I've been visiting your thread every time you post an update (near enough) I think you're a brilliant artist and keep hoping for an update of you getting a job. So you can imagine how happy you've made me feel from those kind words, thanks man. Also I'm starting to enjoy sculpting humans
I also tried my hand at 2d...I think it went well, obviously I have a lot to learn but it's a start.
