Zbrush Spotlight Issue

I'm fairly new to Zbrush so I don't know if this is a really simple problem, but everytime I go to paint with spotlight it just paints it black. I have rgb on and colorize in the polypaint tab.

It worked earlier on in my project but ever since I have messed around with materials (fill object for a complete skin material) and lightcap it just won't allow me to go back and continue painting with spotlight.

Any ideas why its doing this?

Looks like you're just painting your selected color instead of painting from the spotlight. Try just hitting z to turn off the spotlight widget instead of shit + z. If the spotlight image is to large when you're painting you can shrink it down with the spotlight radius tab in the spotlight widget.

Its odd because i've tried that, i'm fairly familiar with the z and shift + z commands. It just does it no matter if I do that, and i've even changed the selected colours to a different colour and its showing up black still.

nevermind I just saved my model out as a .ztl and opened a new zbrush project file and it seems to be working again
