My name is Travis and I would like to tell you about the Wisconsin Game Developer’s Summit, an event that I believe many on this forum would be interested in. The Wisconsin Game Developer’s Summit, or WGDS, is a games summit being held in Milwaukee on April 20th-21st, 2013 at the UW-Milwaukee Student Union.

The purpose of this summit is to bring together students, professionals, and people interested in the industry for a weekend to network, collaborate on ideas or create new ones, and share projects with each other. We have a lot planned and are looking into having game competitions and other activities during the event.

Used to live there.... used to work there, and that is where i met my fabulous wife. Wisconsin is great... i would go back if the Game Industry was a little more stable and present there.

This sounds like a great idea tho! I'll follow this.

Thanks for the interest! A few students started this up and it is becoming bigger and bigger just because of what you just mentioned: the gaming industry is too quiet in the Midwest! Our goal is to make this an annual event and put Wisconsin, and the Midwest, on the map in terms of the Gaming Industry.
