Hey there.
For the past month, myself and four other game students at AIE Sydney have been working on a UDK game environment inspired by space vikings and giant predator birds.
We created the town where the vikings live in the torn apart shells of what was once their space ships. Here they are protected by their great walls and force field.
We are pretty happy with what we've managed to create in the time given but we would love to hear any critique and suggestions you have to make our level better.
My team mates and myself will be posting some of our main assets in this thread but for now here is our fly through video.

We went with a hand painted texture style and used a lot of Borderlands art for reference (minus the outline).

Another AIE student here! I'm from Melbourne... Hi...
I think your cable may look a but clean compared to some of your other textures.... Sandy them up perhaps? I can see you have so a little perhaps a smig more and if you where to bleach the colors a bit, because the level looks like its in some harsh ish environment.
Something that would really make it pop is if you added a decal that made the ground look like a path, so we can see where people walk and such. It will bring it alive more.
May I also ask how many building assets you have?
I think the Melbourne students are doing the same as you guys, I'm going to speak to someone tomorrow see if we can share our level builds between campuses. Would be cool!
I like the way you guys when about making tons of assets using the same texture.!
Thanks! Ah yes I see, like make the cables look more worn. I could lighten up the colours in the areas where wear would be.
Yeah we ran out of time for decals but if we continue the environment I do think we need to work on the terrain a lot more!
Thanks for your comments I will work on it
