At the risk of being too close to the original items, I'd probably try a light, less saturated colour on the cloth. SD is so dark and saturated that you need to contrast that on his gear otherwise it'll all blend together.
The hands are definitely an improvement, but I'd suggest adding a dark gradient like SDs original hands and keeping the glowing fingertips like you have now.
I think you're right, while I don't like the color of the cloth as much in a vacuum, the added contrast really helps. (I hat this stage of the process, the endless tweaking and uncertainty gaaaaaaaah)
Yeah, that helps a lot. And I know what you mean about the uncertainty. I've been fiddling about with the shoulderpad and bracers on my medusa set for 3 days and I still don't know where I'm going with it!
This is one of my favorite sets for SK. The theme is great, a dark phoenix - pure genius and fits his lore perfectly. However, I always see room for improvement. Namely in the gauntlet and the cape. I feel the helmet is the only fully realized piece of this set in terms of unique silhouettes and the "Black Phoenix" theme. One idea for the cape is to make it a split ended cape to tease "wings". Anyways, I look forward to see this set improved or otherwise in the game ASAP
Secondly, I think there's an issue with the colour scheme, while obviously you're using Skywrath's blue and gold you're also mixing the two colours which distinguish whether or not a ward is observer or sentry. It wasn't so much an issue with the Skywrath Sentinel because the orange and blue of the eye stood out very clearly from the black/dark blues of the body but with these guys I'm not sure it's enough, at a glace, to be able to see which kind of ward they are.

I wonder If sentry ward wings could have a little blue tint, or both wards share same texture?
I think my only concern is if the players would be able to separate observer from sentry easily. I mean it's kind of obvious with the big purple icon on top of a sentry ward, but I think it's better if they're just a tad bit more distinguishable.
Updates! Thanks for the feedback guys, I differentiated the sentry ward a bit more, you guys were totally right there, reads much easier at a glance now.
I also reworked the death animation to something more traditional, what I had before was a bit too flamboyant for a humble ward as ike put it so nicely.

It looks like the ends of the bow was being extended with some wood to make it bigger, and cloth was used instead of glue to tape.
Maybe you should just make it cloth until it reaches the tip.
WR set. Gonna have to redo some parts, way too clean, way too basic in texture. (totally stole Dry's sniper legs though)

Courier to go with the WR set. Pouch on the back is too small/not interesting. Only half baked ideas on how to make him fly (dont wanna go with stereotypical wings)
Ogre set with Possum. Started this one over a year ago, looked like shit, gave up, started it up again and finished it to the point where I like everything but the weapon, gonna have to redo that.

Random Courier. Redoing this one to a good extend, air balloon is too big and blocks 90% of model. model iteself too even/no spots of interest. Have an idea though on how to change it, but again, flying mode = hard without going "lolwings"
Lifestealer set cause I had too much WIP shit already and though it was a good idea to add more, though I really like how that came out so now I have to update all the other WIP shit to be the same lvl of quality... sigh, kill me now
Ohhh man... sculpt of Lifestealer set is jaw dropping!!! Seriously this wood and metal pieces... idea is also right on the spot. If this will stay as a WIP I will find you and I will kill you... you... just look at this chain... WOW!!!
The chain on Naix is a really bold choice (in an awesome way), and I'm impressed by the splendid job on the sculpting! Probably one of the rare sets that put me in awe.
I wanna get away from the whole "only post finished stuff for promotion" trend that this subforum has been kinda drifting towards, so here's some bakes.
I can fap to this, holymother of clean bakes! Keep em' comming!. Yeah I noticed too the "only post finished stuff for promotion", I myself was doing this, I'm trying to keep posting as much WIP's as I can - and that will hopefully help with my procrastination! xD -
Those bakes look really clean. Looks almost as good as it would be high poly. Only thing that you could look into is this nail on top going tru the metal hole. His pointy end is super thin almost hard to see, you could add there loop that will me later easily remover for LOD1 to make it more obvious for menu pose.
@Spudnik I cant focus on his specular and lightning, like if you were rotating those with model. To bad you didn't manage to make chain on his legs, but it look legit as well on his back so don't worry. Looking forward to progress on this one
