A lot of the previous images really dont look feasible in terms of scope. I would highly stress something that could hypothetically be completed in the modeling stage by week 2. And forces modularity and repeatable textures
This one would be an absolute blast to work on. I'd learn alot. I can't remember where I found this, it might have been somewhere on polycount.
It also has two scenes to choose from, so there'd be a little more variety in some of the posts. The choice would depend on which scene contains the most one would learn from. They both offer alot to learn in terms of architecture and industrial settings, and could be easy to pick apart with many modular props.
+1 for one of these concepts, they have great colours and atmosphere. Would be a good challenge to do. - and yes, I intend on taking part.
I think this would be a good one for the challenge.
There are some amazing concepts here but I would vote for the one that Tejay submitted. The mood of the scene as well as the overall look to it makes me fell peaceful. Would love to try and replicate that.
First time entering the challenge and first time properly using UDK. I really liked the first concepts posted but the more I think about it the more I like Tejay's - it's got hard surface, organic and character modelling plus if I'm getting started with UDK it'll be good to give water a try too.
There's a good mix of modelling and it's a manageable size. The details in the door panel and statues are only really hinted at so people will need to take their own creative direction - whodoesn'tlikeanicewallrelief?
Wow, that's stunning! Initially it seems too complex for the noob challenge, but on second glance it's actually super modular - 7 or 8 pieces of building, bridge, tree, terrain, stones, small foliage, tiling textures, a couple unique, done! My vote goes here
Hi there, I will definitely participate in this challenge, I just discovered this contest and I saw how you guys previously improved your skills in the past challenges. I think this is probably the most motivating and helpful part of polycount board for noobs like me! Thank you for this idea, and I will also vote for Tejay. I see here a great opportunity to train myself and improve my skills on various points. Plus, it doesn't seem to be incredibly wide so I'll try to focus on details and general mood instead of modelling tons of assets.
Anyway, thank you to those who organize the challenge! (I really hope this concept will be the one )
Honestly, most of the concepts posted here go far beyond "noobish"". For that matter they should change the topic title to "newb" rather than "noob"(?).
Having said that ^^ Here are some concepts I think will be suitable:
This looks like it would be some good practice. I'm voting for Tejay's suggestion. It's not overly complex, and there's a pretty decent variety of objects and surfaces to create.

The Forgotten Atlantis Concept:
Okay, there's my submissions.
I vote for this one.

I need something small to work on, and that looks perfect.

One vote for Tejay's pond/temple door.
I know where you live.
I find these 2 concept quite challenging..
+1 Vote to any of the above
Got a couple of concepts that I've had in my inspiration folder that I'll throw in:

That's beautiful, I'm leaning more towards this..

The Teejay one is also a favorite of mine.
+1 for this one :

I second this motion.
Fair bit of modularity there I think
