I'm having problems with MassFX physics in 3ds max 2012, I need to fill a pill bottle with pills in a way that it looks right and then have the bottle fall over and the pills inside move properly, but just the filling part doesn't seem to be working right, it just doesn't fall inside it properly no matter what, it always ends up either clipping trough or just not really responding to the shape properly:

if you're stuck with massfx though, how is your scene currently set up? it looks from the screenshot that you've modelled the pill bottle as a single hollow cylinder - you could try making the bottle out of multiple proxy objects - ie a disc for the base and then multiple flat faces for the sides. as a general rule of thumb simulations work much better/quicker on convex objects rather than concave as the solver can do much more simple maths to work out the collisions etc. even though it's working with more pieces of geometry.
