3ds max: Weird green artifacts caused by bright material when rendering

Problem solved, please delete this thread or whatever is the custom, thank you. The solution? I had messed around with the color map of the diffuse map... disabling it made everything work again.

Hello,

I made a bright plank material, and put it on the model just to see what the colour would look like and so on. I tried rendering in various lightings and no matter what I do (except for when I make the material darker by changing the gamma), I get these very disturbing green artifacts/noise when rendering. It doesn't occur in the viewport.

Here are two pictures, one is a screenshot showing the noise/artifacts, one is a compilation of the rendered image's different channels and the texture itself in different channels (straight from Photoshop).

As you can see, the noise isn't visible at all in the green or blue channels, only in the red one. When it comes to the plain texture in Photoshop, the blue and green channels aren't completely white anywhere, whereas the red channel has lots of pure white spots.

Any ideas what's causing this and what I can do except for making the texture darker or perhaps adding redness?

Thanks in advance!
