Hi, I did this as a teaching demo at the Art Institute in Austin. I know it doesn't exactly conform to canon - there's so much variety in the Master Chief that I felt ok taking a little creative licence.
I started the sculpt with a rough approximation of what the helmet and shoulders would look like, then retopologized each piece. The render is a composite of a few different metals, including gold and chrome, as well as the thin edge mat and a couple custom mats I've stumbled onto along the way. Hope you like it!
