I'm having trouble implementing LOD's for multiple meshes. I've followed all of the 3ds max methods for creating LODs, I even tried the old method. (

My case: I have a big house that has multiple mesh group. the main one is the largest which consist of the walls and the roof, the detail groups are the doors,windows and etc. Here's a simplified example:

I've checked all of the pivots, applied reset xforms and double checked all of the links.

Even if I tweak the LOD ratio the mesh doesn't change. I even zoomed out ridiculously to see if it is working but still it doesn't.
I tried exporting everything using 3ds max 2012 and free sdk 3.4.0 and 3.4.3.
I did some LODs from my past models without problems but all of those are single meshes. I can't combine my house into one big mesh because of the 64k vert limit. my deadline is fast approaching so any help is appreciated, thanks!

They really ought to fix it, its a stupid glitch and makes exporting big complex objects so complicated.
