Hi, awesome works there Fomori. I'm really loving your works, there are some very unique characters you have.
This one looks great too, and the folds came out nicely.
I do have some crits though, if you don't mind. Maybe it's just the perspective, but I think the torso might be a tad bit too long or the legs are too short. You usually want the crotch to be positioned about halfway the height of the figure right? I think this one looks a bit low in position.
hey looks good. i like it. only a few things i noticed. never seen a jacket with just one button, ive seen 2 and up. might be wrong tho, also the pockets on the jacket seem a little high or the jacket seems a little long, but that space between the pocket and the bottom is huge, also his crotch area ( zipper ) very long, do you have your references by any chance?
Some suits do have one button, but it's less common. I might add another anyway just for the added detail, but still have the jacket done up with one. I'm going for a 50s/40s suit look, a lot of the looks they had back then were very loose and baggy. I think that's why the jacket seems long and the crotch low, but you're right about the pockets being a little bit too high.
You've refreshed my eyes and I will bring up the crotch a bit, possibly lower the pockets and add that second button.
Low poly pretty much done. Might reduce where it's a bit dense at the bottom of the pants where the folds are.
Currently standing at around 19k triangles.
Hi Fomori. I've been out of the character art game for a few months now, but your work is great really inspirational. I think I'll be picking up wacom pen again and get zbrushing. Great work keep it up!!
I think that look a bit weird. It looks like he doesn't have a foot under his pants for that fold is way to big.
Other then that good work man
Very observant of you. But I think it's just a bit of an optical illusion from that angle. Have a look at the transparent trousers and you can see that the leg fits under fine.
Speedy sculpt I wanted to spend a little more time on.
Based on Ian Carmichael from Ealing Studios comedies. Not an exact likeness as I deviated a bit.
Man I love your thread! You characters have a really cool style and a very nice topology!
What do you use to get your renders? Is that marmorset or zbrush?

Thanks man! :poly121:
Yep pretty much everything in this thread has been rendered in Marmoset (version 1) for low poly and Zbrush for sculpts.

Cheers, can't wait to see more of this.

Mainly been working on the low poly but did a little poly painting (just the head) to start getting some colour on.
And just for fun some filtering:

Had to do a few tweaks and a bit of polypaint.
/move on
I think I'm ready to start the texturing.
I think I've captured his character with the pose.
I've learnt a lot and will definitely not be doing the hair in the same way again. Better next time.
In Marmoset.
I can see a clear skill progression going on in this thread can't wait to see what you make next!

True that.
But anyway this is great work, i really enjoy your thread.
Based on Gray Shuko concept.
More detail and a quick polypaint.
