Might be a good time to look into starting a new game idea to start a new company perhaps through kick starter? if all else fails at least it is an option, I'd be down with you cause you got the ideas for designs so that's half way their.

Man, thanks for the moral support guys, it's really appreciated. PC has always pulled together for stuff like this and it's great to know that the community is there when you have to deal with this stuff. Almost seems like a rite of passage...I feel like I just graduated, lol!

It's a damn shame to see such a great group of people go, but I am really pumped to have worked with these guys and consider myself better off for it.

Any leads are much appreciated! I'm excited to work on some personal work in the meantime, so you can watch my blog for updates if anyone's interested. (can see it in my sig)

I will personally vouch for Rayph as being a great person to work with, and I also have a fantastic Technical Animator/Rigger that I can recommend, especially if the job is in the North East.

Hazardoes- Thanks alot man! Yea it is total bullshit honestly. My heart kind of sank reading the email that I need to take it down but if it keeps me out of hotwater so be it...Does make it damn difficult to show people that yes I have actually done production concept art.

But in the meantime...researching how to get some password protection into blogger...

As for the rest of the guys and gals affected by these layoffs there really is a ton of talent to be snatched up. Chaos (willem) is on the verge of absolute badassness studios would be nuts not to snatch that up.

This is exactly why I believe this kind of stuff should be taken care of at employment/publisher contract, to be allowed to exhibit certain assets agreed upon by both parties in the event of termination.

Sadly I know so many of us are not in the position for such bargaining.

Most of the generalist positions are for seattle locals though, so go fo the modeling and texturing positions

Hey Rayph just a tip cause I was looking for a way to privately show my work. Tumblr has a pretty easy way of setting up a password protected blog you can link around but the cool thing is their site is based around mostly images so it's not a bad way to show your stuff as an artist.

Sorry to hear you guys got laid off, my best wishes that you guys find something soon (which I know you will because yall are a talented bunch )

I'm definitely going to miss you guys. Tencent/Stomp Games was definitely an adventure to say the least. There were definitely some challenges we faced but we were able to make it happen in the end and I think we all grew from it. I'm really glad I got to work with such a talented group of artists. Best of luck to everyone as we set out to new opportunities. Can't wait to see where we all wind up.

Side note in regards to "banhammer" from studios: create a passworded section on your site.

Have your personal / approved professional work available to everyone, but if you have a bunch of stuff you can't show due to circumstances like this, you can PW a section and give that to potential employers so they can view your new work.

Many of my friends / coworkers have done similar things and that has worked in more cases than not.

Banhammer sucks, but keep showing all your work for those who matter, lure employers in with your portfolio, and after they show interest send them a link with a password protected gallery, or just send it to them by mail, that will keep you out of the hotwater.
