In Myanmar now I get intermittent 512kb/s through a mobile network.. and when I mean intermittent, I mean it connects for 10 seconds for every minute so its actually alot lower xD..
but 700 wtf.. I want that so bad..
yeah man, we recently got fibre in our new house... we were told to expect almost 40Mb/s, but are actually receiving half of that. the reason is that there is a 10 meter stretch of cable about 200 meters from the cabinet, and 90 meters from the house (so we know exactly where it is, actually) that is aluminium not copper. the thickness of copper cabling costs about 99p per meter, properly shielded etc and it would cost about £50 per meter. i told BT i'd pay for it myself to get them to replace it, but they were like "lol no, it'd fuck up our infrastructure".
assholes.
anyway, because of that, my mobile phone connects to 4g networks faster than my computer connects via the fibre... it's fucking retarded.

Looks like Google wants to get into cell-phones too.
