Here is something I have been working on for the past few days still in early stages, the terrain nearly done but the castle is still being blocked out and lighting hasn't been touched yet. I'm looking for crits as i go along as i am using as a portfolio piece to get into uni

software used: blender, photoshop, UDK, world machine and meshlab

If there is snow on the ground there should probably be snow on the castle. I like how your playing with the cold and warm colors.

The wall is bothering me a bit I think its the sloped rock tiles, structurally and aesthetically it's a bad idea to have rocks laying on an angle.

Also the snow looks flattened, it reminds me of an excavation site where trucks have been driving constantly over the same paths creating streaks in the dirt.

    Great work keep it up.

Those mountains look amazing!! Looks almost real! Except in one shot you have. In your 1st castle picture, and your 2nd to last: There is a striped gradation between your snow and mountain peak. Overall nice start on your castle, and amazing landscape.

Have you seen the Desert trailer? The guy who made it did some really cool landscape/sand/mounds dynamics. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxFwfZMBxT8"]Making of "The Desert": Technical - YouTube[/ame]

    Speed up to 19:26

If you are planning on making this part of a reel, it'd be cool to see the snow blowing across the rocks.
