So I'll give some basic info :

Game : Dungeon Defenders
UDK Version : 2010 build (March?)

Issue:

Below in the two screen shots you'll see the problem. In the game it is creating shadows where ever the camera or the player looks, but only nearby. At a distance it doesn't create this weird artifacting that is going on.

So does anyone with UDK experience know what might cause this, and how can I fix it? I thought it might be a light map issue but I've reset meshes and BSP surfaces to default and to their original light map resolutions to no success.

I read some where else that it might be a post processing issue but I haven't changed anything with the post processing that would cause this.

Also, I have removed all dominant directional lights and dynamic lights, built lighting and still experience no change. I've tried everything I can think of. Starting to lose my patience for this error, and I really don't want to start all over.

Just guessing, but it might be a LOD problem. More costly operations will be turned off in the distance to save processing power, so I would guess that a shader or texture for hi-quality rendering (only used for closest pixels) is defect (wrong parameters).
