Made a new thread since i culd not rename the other one. my zombie is a football player. I`ll post the concept now and some sculpt screens later or tomorrow. feedback welcome
Thnx guys
Here`s some progress, i made the body from a modified manequin, then dynameshed it, and blocked out the main forms. Made the helmet...and realised that most of it is not even going to be visible XD.
Everything exept the helmet is very rough, next step is fix proportions and forms, add the pumpkins on the left arm, add injuries in other parts of the body, make the left shoulder pads, separate the head, arms, legs, shirt and pants to have better resolution, refine and add details etc. His face needs a lot of work too.
Crits and comments welcome.
Amazing WIP! The legs seem a bit too skinny for a football player maybe. He looks like a kicker imo. Im sure you're aware of that though because you'll be fixing the proportions. Cant wait to see more of this character.
nick: Absolutelly, i made him skinnier since he is in a zombie state and is loosing weight very fast, but those legs need to be bulked up, thnx for pointing that out
xxxcubanxxx, Anais, lotet, MRJONES: Thnx a lot!!
Ok, i was not happy with the direction this was taking and decided to start from 0, went for a cartoony style, and i think he has more personality now, dig the forms a lot more and everything in general.
The helmet is the same, just adjusted the forms and changed some things like the chinstrap, The body is still rough, i have to separete it in pieces, refine and add details. The pumpking from the back logo is temporal, i`ll work that stuff later in the texturing process. Oh, and added some pumpkin infection to his leg
There`s still a lot to do. feed and comments are welcome as always
Really cool. There is only three things I can say :
- why the axe ? Doesn't seem to fit the football theme and it's a bit strange to see it stuck like this in the helmet, it's supposed to be really hard, isn't it ?
- the assymetry is nice, but the fat limbs with punmpkins are hard to understand. Maybe they are a bit useless, the character is awesome even without them. Here we can't see if it's par of the clothes or flesh or something else.
- I think you should rework the flesh-to-bone transitions on the wrists and ankles, and also add more part where we can see the bones.
lotet: That`s exactlly why i put that axe, couldn`t have explained better myself, thnx for the feedback
Texelion: thnx for the inputs, yeah, i went too far with the pumpking limbs, about the axe, lotet just explined it very, well
letmekhush, xxxcubanxxx, ValiantDan: thank you!!
Made some changes to this guy based on suggestions and reworked his face.
I have some more ideas in mind so may be i'll make a couple more redesigns, who knows, it`s very fun to play with different styles, i still want to use the fused pumpkin concept in some way...everything is still very rough, i don`t want to polish and add details until i`m satisfied with the deisign.
Thank you very much for the feedback, plase keep it coming
YEAH! This looks great. The first model was very nicely done, but I think, for the subject matter, you made the right call going more stylized. S'got punch now! I like the axe. Once it's point of impact has been gussied up a bit I don't think anyone will question it. The only thing I'd crit on, and it sounds like you already are on it, is he needs some other kind of visual gag or "hook". Something to set him apart a bit. The pumpkins might be the trick, who knows. What happened to the concept? I wanna see it!
Awesome work man, my favorite so far.
Hi guys! I apologize, i was extremely busy the whole month with work, and just had some free time like 2 days before the contest ended, i just culd not finish it
Anyways i want to congratulate everyone, there are a lot of awsome submissions, can`t wait to see the winners!!!

and I think the axe is fine, maybe he dindt die from it, but some poor guy tried to kill him with it and failed.
