[Dota2] – Faceless Void – Time Bender

After stressing out about picking a character I settled on Faceless Void. I never played DOTA but I read that he does something with time?

Anyways... My idea for a weapon is just a massive wood+iron+glass hourglass on a stick for him to whack things with. I'll draw that a later. It's a bit on the nose but I like it.

So for now.. placeholder thread!

I'll also change his head shape, or would that break the character too much?

Other than that, changing his head shape is fine, encouraged, even.

Void is able to ignore the rules that time imposes upon others. If you want information on all of the heroes their full backstories are on each of their technical requirements page.

Okay! Quick concepts, it's crap, but it's something. This weekend I'll really go for it but this warmed me up nicely.

I'm liking the first head concept. Especially the design on the forehead, it reminds me of the icon of Backtrack, really sweet! I hope if you end up making it, it'll be a grove in the face, not just painted on. Either way, I'm looking forward to how this develops!

Blocked out a weapon in 3D. I think this one would look pretty cool all zbrushed up.

Yes it would =D Probably my favorite void weapon I've seen so far.

Is transparency enabled for void though? I'm not exactly sure.

Cool concept, but it seems a bit flimsy. As in, it seems like it would break when bashing people's heads in.

I agree with Spudnik, it does look flimsy. I think the blades are a bit overkill, but I haven't looked much into the character. I think the mace look without blades would look good too.

I'm also doing a Faceless Void submission and I'm pretty sure there isn't any transparency option for any of the items we are allowed to edit for this contest. I could be wrong so if you do get a definite answer I'd love to know also ^^

I really like the crystal idea. It looks great. But I don't se a connecttion between the armor and the weapon. Maybe if you put some crystals on the weapon it would looks more like a set

Digging the head. Not a fan of the weapon though. As someone else mentioned here, its quite close to the Epoch weapon in store already. It might not be exact but the idea of having a hourglass as the centre of a weapon is there. Maybe toy around with some iterations/other ideas? Either way, looking forward to more of another FV set

I think the weapon will hold you back a lot when valve considers your set. They'll see "Oh, it's good, but we already have an hourglass weapon for void". It's not too original, especially because it's been done already. Sorry for the real talk.

Thanks guys. I didn't make any progress yet... too busy at work. I'm taking a week off from work for this next month. I'll think of another weapon because you guys advice against it with the hourglass thing.
