why would it not be posible to have same amount of tris as polys? if the mesh is triangulated
oh, also lookin good, but i prefer the second picture you posted most
heh. This contest is really intense. Hard to keep track of these threads.
I personally feel the silhouette is too 'spikey' with 1 note, and doesn't really let your eye rest anywhere.
I get the feeling the Pauldrons would benefit from having the spikes be either significantly reduced in size, or make just 2 of them. And the ones on the belt, maybe squares, or rounding a few of them out would really help.
Also the horns on the Helmet could maybe use a bit more of a dynamic shape to them. like more of a curve.
It's a solid start though! Really cool seeing what other people bring to this character!
Keep it up mate, there is no way but forward with what you already have.
I have barely had any comments on my thread at all, but I am not going to stop for that and neither should you!
I do like the new horns and the only advice I would give you would be to create some sort of separating element between your handle and the base of the swords blade. I get where you are going with it but since you have done a good job making the blade easy to read you may as well make the stone section read better, perhaps one of the rocks was carved/formed in a solid block to contrast the smaller rocky formations around it (they do read like several rocks because of the edges around them).
Anyways, I will be checking back on your work, keep it coming mate!
Great start with the sword! I'm thinking the overall form could be made stronger if the rocks transition from small to large from the tip to the base of the blade. So far the majority of the stones look about the same size and some contrast would be nice. Also, what would the hilt look like wrapped with leather instead? Rocks are cool, but something tells me that people don't normally wrap them around hilts (unless utility isn't a big concern for you) Good work, keep it up!
I don't think you can go wrong either way. If you mirror the pauldron you fit the characters fairly symmetrical style and save a bit of time. If you make it asymmetrical, you make the character look more interesting.
If they are mapped to the same UV's (im not sure with this character) then you would get a better texture resolution by mirroring the one. Considering their size this might be more important to you.
Looking really nice $!nz, i like the color proof sheet too. My suggestion is to move onto the other major armor sections, and once you have the majority of the major elements in place proof the colours/armor as a set.
I really love the sculpt so far! Helmet is uuber badass. I'm not a huge fan of the colors you have on the model, but maybe it's just the lighting? It just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of his colors. Perhaps try less magenta in your red trim and lighten it up a bit? I'm getting a girly vibe from the colors and I don't think that's what you're going for lol. But yeah I love that shoulder and helm design.

i like that sword, i just miss the hand guard, make it appear much more a machete then a sword
