Says he needs to be more active.... gone for over a month
Anyways I've been pretty busy exploring non digital art this last month.
Clay and Drawing has completely upgraded my observation skills, I'll post some of my traditional sketches if I get around to it.
Definitely noticed a jump in the before and after posts, keep it up!
One thing I noticed is your characters faces usually seem to be getting rather flat around the mouth area, something to keep an eye out for. I'd probably pay closer attention to the overall silhouettes of the side/profile view to help correct.
Hi cgartland, what a shame about the computers, it was quite a good start for your sculpts
nice gallery by the way I like how you detailed the old man face!
Got the character sketches for Mori finished! Some were better than others because I really got into "art mode" and it sort of clicked. The not as good ones I had to really struggle through, but I figure the more I make the more intuitive it will be.

nothing too impressive, just some 3d doodles
(this ones just a paint over as a brief value study)
And another drawing
some pose-maniacs 30 second gesture drawings
and a 30 minute sculpting practice, martain man hunter popped into my head when I went to do the face for some reason.
I need to work on legs, but I seem to be grasping torso musculature pretty well. Didn't get to the arms much on this guy, I may finish it later
Been a while, but I'm getting better for sure.
This one is just poly painted, definitely a step up in my sculpting ability
Reworking some of the old mans proportions, aiming for realistic
And a bunch more gesture sketches
need to be way more active at this, my practice kinda dropped off.

here's art:
ultra low poly, ~700 tris
ultra low poly weapons, >100 tris each
painting seems to be more fun every time I try it
doodle turned out like a dragon ball z character
getting better, hopefully I'll find more time to practice.
Yeah muscles
These are thumbnails for a game I'll be working on this year.
I'm new to 2d environments, but I learned a lot from doing these.
Moving on to character painting next. Crits appreciated.

The man and the mutant will sadly never be finished, as I had 2 computers break last month and had to start over on a clean slate.

The render turned out pretty awesome.
More Z Doodles, getting back into sculpting. I'm way outta practice but getting back into it quickly
And last but not least the Nose Golemn
I actually ended up giving the human eyes to the skinny guy and the beast eyes to the big one.
I'll post full bodies once I've made more progress on the creatures.
Here's a dump to get things up to speed
