Is there a way to transfer UVs to a mesh that is the same? [Maya]

For example sake I have a table with 4 legs that I modeled and placed before I UV mapped it.

I know if you UV map a mesh and duplicate it the UVs also get duplicated. What if I already duplicated the legs before I UV mapped it? Can I by any chance UV map one of the legs and just copy the UVs over to the rest? Or is it better to just recopy again once you UV map the first leg?

    Mesh>Transfer Attributes(Options Box)

You can transfer UV's, there are several options, I remember sometimes while the uv unwrap looks indentical the actual order is incorrect, for example with a cube, the top face in the unwrap, the duplicate unwrap could actually represent the bottom face of the cube instead of the top like on the original.

Some methods of transfer you can choose rely on the position information of the objects, you will probably find it faster and more accurate to unwrap one leg, cut off the additional legs and stitch duplicates of the unwrapped leg back to the table.

Transfer Attributes is the tool you are asking for.
But for future projects, I recommend that you get used to using instances.
