Hey guys been busy for a while with work, but finally got around to posting this WIP I have been working on please critique and comment the hell out of it. I chose to model an AKS 74U old school Russian version with the solid handle only made for two years and added a plastic handle just to break it up a little more. The current tri count is at 7,124 with a 2048 Diffuse, Spec, and Normal map. Right now I think the damage is a little to uniform throughout the metal, not sure on the plastic handle, and still working on the wood sections. But feel free to tear this thing to pieces I am looking forward to the helpful comments and critiques.
The model looks great, the textures need so TLC. The damage on the metal needs more variation, and brake it up a bit more. The handle could use some noise as well. The spec map needs some work as everything is reading as the same material type.
There's another AK on here that has some wood texture-- might want to look at that. link to thread
Thanks for taking the time to critique this man. I agree with everything you said, I was worried it was to much everywhere I will tone it back. I actually have noise on the handle just need to bump up its opacity more. I think the major issue with the specular map you are seeing is with my lighting but I will look into it. Yah I saw that one pass though I will have to take another look at it.
Thanks again for the critique man, I will get to work on the fixes.
Regards,
