Hey everyone. Havn't been doing much art, so I found a old SD Art test I figured I would take a shot at.
My idea was to make it into a offshore strip club/bar type thing, and call it Salty's. Here is my progress so far. Rocks are 100% place holders, this is my basic idea though. I intend to fill the deck up with more little props, and the lower dock also. I was going to see if you guys had any suggestions on the scale of things so far, it has been the thing I have been battling most with this scene.
I intend to make a Max text for the Salty's logo in a neon sign type fashion using a glow map ontop. The little hanging sign underneath is either going to say "nudes" or have one of those female shaped neon signs.
That's about it for now, any ideas are 100% welcome.

Scrapped those placeholder rocks altogether , and will focus on them when I am done populating the scene. Having some trouble thinking of smaller props to fill this in with (ie. on the dock, sidewalk parts) Here's another little update, any comments would be sweet. Thanks.
Here is a shot from UDK (pre-built lighting level) just to show off some of the new props, and see if they work well together.
The lighting on the stool is black under the legs, I am not to sure if it's just the light bounces from the other legs, or if I messed something up.. gotta check that out on my next update :P
Here are some more shots of single props (I don't know much about good lighting or a good program to show off models in) So here they are in UDK with a three light set-up.
Pipes
Barrel
Stool
Bottle
Looking at these, I think I am going to re-do the stool's fabric, it was supposed to be a grunged up suede, but looks like it is getting washed out. The bottle to I have a alpha mask for it to use a translucent, I think I am liking the opaque better though.
Anyways, not a big update, but I am confident I am going to finish this scene. Any crits are more than welcome. Thanks.
