Photoshop-Preserving Transparency with a sequence

Hi folks,
I'm having an issue while creating an animated Gif within Photoshop.
I would like to create an animated .gif of a character I've animated, on a transparent background.
My issue:
I've rendered out a sequences of .tiff files containing Alpha channels.
When I place the sequence within Photoshop, the alpha channels are no longer present.
However, when opened as a single image, the alpha channel is recognized in photoshop.
Thoughts or Solutions in maintaining a transparency , while importing a sequence of images?
