Hey guys, I've been shopping around for a Wacom to do personal projects with (painting with a mouse is annoying now). While price shopping, I noticed that Amazon.com has a Wacom Intuos 5 Medium for $229. Considering an Intuos is around 349, I feel a bit skeptical about this price. Does anyone have any experience buying this product or similar products from Amazon?

You will get an idea about the price.
Are they tied to any particular institute or any student from anywhere around the world can buy academic version?
If cost is a factor, monoprice makes graphics tablets that are way cheaper. - The only lost of quality is all the bells and whistles of a Wacom(touch screens, mouse, etc).
I own a cintiq and a intuos 4 and I also have 12x9 monoprice tablet. Although the monoprice is a bit large for my taste, I honestly prefer the drawing surface and pressure curve more so than my wacom products.
