So I've been trying to get some speed sculpts in during my lunch breaks lately and I figured I should start a thread! Most of these are inspired by other artists and were crazy fun to do.
Each one was around an hour. I think the longest was the fairie girl at over two hours.
Really nice job, girl looks evil :O
Only thing I would like is on the dragon is some sharper lines and creases around the mouth and eye's cause I think the shapes blends a bit to much in that area.
Would be awesome to see lowpoly's of these as well with some stylized textures
Still I understand that might not be the case with these speed models.
Thanks Strom! I might do a full character one of these days and take it through the full pipeline. For now, these are just some lunch time quickies to keep myself feeling fresh. Definitely loving it, so I'll be pushing myself to go crazy on a full creature sometime soon, hopefully. (if work allows)
Here's another one (beeeeg peeeeness). This was about an hour and a half.
Did another quickie this weekend. Been playing a lot of Fall of Cybertron. The game looks good, but the lighting, art direction and the novelty of transformers really kicked my ass.
Also, semi-hardsurface box modeling stuffs! Kinda sloppy, but it is 100% zbrush. Done in two short sittings. Not super accurate to any one design, but it is based more on G1.
Great work man! I too am a massssssive Transformers fan, OP looks great i just think the bottom of his mouthplate needs to be brought a bit forward. from the side it is looking like the art off of the old 80's boxes haha
awww yeah! These busts are fantastic! I'd love to see the dragon, fish, duck/reindeer, and "another crazy kritter" as full characters-Please please please please!! :-)
Ha yes i know the feeling. i had stuff coming back to me not even remembering that i made .
Anyway these sculpts would be a nice section on your new Port. again like them a lot
These are awesome, I have been doing 30min-1hr speed sculpts as well, and these are quite a bit better than mine.... But definitely inspiration to push forward! Have you ever thought about timelapsing your speed sculpts? Great work nonetheless! Added to inspiration folder for surezies.
Hey Mcejn these are really great! I REALLY like your style. I was wondering though, do you start in zbrush with your base mesh or do you bring some of the hard surface stuff in from your program of choice?
Alright, so this probably deserves its own thread, but I've managed to fit a little bit of time here and there on this for the past 2 months. (Now I can fill that time with more of these little sketches)
This one is near and dear to me because I've always been a ninja turtles fan, and now that the new cartoon is out (awesome!), I can share that with my little brother. He doesn't know this exists, or that I even printed it, but it'll be an interesting Christmas present. This is for him.
Props to Ownage for the great 3D print (5 inches). Now off to do more crazy ass monsters and hero sculpts!

Here's an old friend.
Extremely simple, but doing it put a smile on my face.
This reminds me of the creatures found in the book "insanely twisted rabbits". Check it out, if you have the chance
Keep going! Lovin' your work :-)
