Nice blockout, I'd taking a similar approach to working on my current project, it really looks in the same style as the concept. Can't wait to see this finished.
This is awesome!! And what a beautiful concept You are off to a great start here!! Your textures are already looking sweet. Can't wait to see some breakdowns.
Really nice stuff. The thing that stands out to me is the roof. In the concept it looks to be blue tiles whereas your roof is more like corrugated metal. Still, you've got a really great start there
Wow, this looks fantastic! I agree with HandSandwich though...the roof really bugs me. If you're going to keep the corrugated metal, I think it would look better if there weren't just random sheets of it. Maybe make it look more like there was a hole, so they patched it up
I'm confused.. do you vertex blend those two textures together in UDK or decal one on top of the other. Someone drop a key word I can google to research this technique please! I'm assuming you are vertex blending those, right?
Yeah, I believe they used this technique quite a bit on Uncharted and Crysis, and probably quite a few other titles by now. I don't know if there's an official name for it, but probably something like "biased alpha blend". You essentially crunch the alpha transition to take place within a small range (like .5 to .55) and combine the vertex paint alpha with a noise map texture to add natural-looking detail and variation. It looks like there's additional shader fanciness here in a fake shadow effect that follows just after the transition from plaster to brick, which really helps sell it.
if you want my criticism....... it could do with.. well... being a bit less awesome because its making me cry with jealousy.... you're texture work is phenomenal!
This is very inspirational! If you have time, would you mind posting your material breakdown with screen shots?! I'm really curious how you're getting that shadow under your stucco.
There's a really nice subtle stylization to the detailed realism of the concept, especially in the trees and such. It'd be nice to see that carried over into 3D as you move on.
Man does this have a lot of potential! Keep up the strong work, and it would be sweet to see more texture flats.
Hey man, give this a try. There are tons of ways to vertex paint and I've seen lots of 3D websites offer their material set up. I don't think this is the best video I've seen on the subject but it is a great video to introduce you to the technique:
I was also wondering about the water stain/drip texture you have. Are they decals, or are they vertex painted?
If they are vertex painted did you use a separate UV channel to map them to the top of the walls where they should be, or did you just make sure that they lined up with the normal tiling UV set?

Can we see wires or a texture breakdown?
put more sections on that door arc.
gratz!
mini up.
c22dunbar thanks, fixed
HandSandwich, Selaznog thanks, I will edit the roof
wireframe
texture of the station
Looking great so far!
I'll second the folks asking for more texture flats or breakdowns, it'd be cool to see more. When you have time of course.

Thank you all for your comments.
Yes, links are correct, I was doing my stuff on the basis of these lessons. I redid it just a little bit, to get the best effect.
As the time will make screenshots of the material.
Great job on the texture work so far! Subscribed and waiting with interest!
Remade grass. The new version like me much more)
Now make the platform and make a tree
tree. Only normal, and occlusion map
I think you need some kind of detail to ground a little bit better the building on the platform. keep going looks great
Much more added or changed
The trees look cool though, very interesting shapes.
