Hey there guys just started creating a new environment called new hope city, im basically trying to build a whole city so its going to be a pretty big project, at the minute iv only got a few assets done but you can kind of see the direction im taking. Any crits would be awesome thanks
im also having a probably with reflective materials at the minute it seems that its affecting the lighting on other assets, creating this redish tint around its edges.
thanks guys, little update just been playing around getting materials sorted,
does anyone know if u can vertex paint alpha masking?, because im getting harsh black shadows with no alpha masking on the roof times (screenshot below)
Looks really nice, I like where it's headed I can't way to see some more of those assets textuerd!
I don't know if it's because you don't have many assets yet, but try to avoid the cliche 'pile of barrels' to fill your spaces with, unless they make sense of course!
Your original entry gate was a lot more interesting, now your scene is basically a wall with a hole in it.
In general I think you've got too many flat planar surfaces, RAGE had a lot of complex industrial shapes, lots of tubes, pipes, curves, exposed supports and such.
I can envision this coming out strong in the end. I would definitely tweak the wall as others have mentioned. I am not sure the story behind it but if its a place where an alien race lives show proof of their existence. I love to see environments that tell a good story. Keep it up.
i do feel the silhouette is a little boring as mentioned it is just a wall. hit a wall on creativity at the minute but i was thinking more of a extruded area, sort of like a command center.
Also thanks for the images gave me some groovy ideas
