Hi Everyone! I'm an aspiring 3D Environment Artist/Level Designer currently attending the Art Institute of Orange County - California. I've decided to start posting my work here so I can get feedback from the other artists here.
This is my first completed environment I made in my last school quarter for a 3D Environments class. I spent a bit of time learning the CryEngine 3, but the bulk of my time went to creating props. I didn't make the vegetation, trees, rocks, terrain, or water; they are a part of the CryEngine Free SDK.
Here's a sculpt I did in Zbrush in about 4 hours for a digital sculpting calss I'm taking, this is my first time using a lot of the new functions in Zbrush 4R3, primarily DynaMesh. I started with a sphere and used primarily the move brush, the standard brush, and a variety of the "curve" brushes.
I took notice to your posts. Your environment is okay and character is a good work in progress. I would suggest to bump up the details and technicalities of the works. Pay attention to detail and do not confuse with redundant strokes 2d or 3d. I learned to have a polished and well finished art piece would be to take out the unnecessary and focus on the bigger picture. So I would say to lower a little the complexity of the character unless you can add a focal point to the character when detailing to have a stronger focus.
we meet again Neko . I think the modeling is good but is it just me or do the textures seem a little low res. Ah well I paint in the medium of sound so I'm not too keen on what is/isn't high res lol. If it was okay with you, James, I'd love to have a go at your animation, adding sound/audio to it.
Awesome stuff James, I'll get to work on it after some sleep when I get home. Most of the sounds I already have from my field recordings so all that's left is for implementation. This will be my first time messing with audio tracking in an animation, and will give me a chance to practice timing and automation controls! haha
Here's a texture sheet I made in photoshop using the "Rough Round Bristle" and some custom scratch/rivet brushes. I'm going to use it to texture most of my models seen in the first two screenshots I posted earlier.
Here are my "final" shots for this level, I intend to continue working on it, but my 11 week school quarter has come to an end and this is how far I got. I got a two minute fly through for the environment in the works, I'll post it up soon. Feedback appreciated.

@Kaeltro - Sure, have at it Kaeltro. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Here are some screenshots from UDK of a level I'm working on for a level design course taught by Travis Castillo, feedback appreciated.
