Hi guys n' gals, I am new to polycount and thought to try out making a sketchbook of my own, to get some feedback on the stuff I am workin on.
So I will be greatful for any criticism you can give me.
So, here's my most recent project, it's a turret or cannon of some sort.
It is not yet finished, I need to polish the ambient occlusion, specular, normal and diffuse maps. (pretty much everything)
I would love some constructive criticism.
So I worked out the problems on the revolver, got new ones (of cause) fixed those.
And now I switched to using a Pbl shader (physically based lightning)
The shader is made by Kostas Gialitakis and can be found here: http://www.kostas.se/
There are still problems to be worked on here, but those can wait for now.
The tricount is actually 1755 when you exclude the cartridges in the magazine, those were not optimized properly.

It's about 1700 tris,
and the textures are 2048 x 2048 px.

I'm getting artifacts in my normal-map, It looks like its the gradients that causes it, but I really don't see how.
