[UDK] River Valley WIP

Hey guys, starting a new project. I've been wanting to do a large outdoors scene in UDK for some time, and have freed up some time to do so. I decided I wanted to do a river valley type scene, using World Machine to start with the terrain, and Maya to model out some interesting details here and there. I might go for some other stuff I don't want to mention, but ultimately it will be brought into UDK and there I will add the water and post-process effects.

Anyway, here is my start created in World Machine:

    The transition from mountains to flat ground is not very natural. I'd usually start with a sculpt and use that in World Machine so you know things are structured and transition the way you want. I've never seen it done without a sculpt so idk how that works out tho.

    Sometimes's I sculpt, other times I'll just mess around with WM just to get some ideas. But yeah, I ended up changing things around a tad. I suddenly got inspired by a couple of screenshots I saw of the new LoTRO expansion for Rohan, so restarted with a sculpt of some hilly areas. I haven't been able to work a ton on this due to work and what not, but here is my new start in UDK. Will try to update more frequently. Of course, I still have a long way to go. I'll post reference and pre-pro later on once I'm completely happy with the plan.
