Hi all, I have been using xNormal for several weeks without any hiccups, but a new problem cropped up which I am unable to solve.
My work flow all these time was to create a low res mesh in 3ds Max, goz to Zbrush to sculpt in high-quality details, then goz back into 3ds Max to optimize and unwrap, then finally use xNormal to bake out the textures.
This morning however, all my bakes were full of errors. xNormal is not reading the obj correctly, or my settings are wrong. I did not change(or at least do not remember) changing any settings in 3ds max or xNormal at all.
I have tried to trouble-shoot this issue.
1) All the meshes which I baked yesterday are getting this error now. Their bakes were perfectly fine previously.
2) I tried using Zbrush's plugin to bake, and its turning out fine.
3) I tried NOT optimizing the mesh at all, and simply baking it, I am still getting the same error.
4) I have examined the objs of both the low-res mesh and high-res mesh, they look fine.
Zbrush sculpt
3ds Max model (not optimized)
(UVW)
(Baked texture on the mesh)
(Normals)
(Diffuse)
Help is greatly appreciated.

Are the normals of the lowpoly all pointing outwards.
Use cage.
Hi, thanks for the reply.
They are the same size, but they are not aligned in the 3d viewer.
In fact, neither of their position in 3d viewer are the same as it appears in 3ds max or Zbrush.
I went to bake another mesh and its now baking out well, which means only the models associated with this scene and mesh are affected.
Terrific!
You solved it! Thank you so much mate, you are a real life-saver (assignment's due on Tues :poly121: )
