thanks man, im hoping to do our Alumni proud here. I just recently joined. hoping to utilize these challenges to try and continue to build the portfolio.
As for your piece you've got a great design but he seem to be quite short or are you going for that stocky look? I also quite liked he round knee pad in your early concept design. But the ones you have now are working well.
Thanks for the best wishes. I am having fun with this guy. I do have the model a little bent kneed for possible rigging later, Once I finish the overall Model and pose I think he will look a bit taller. His height overall is about 6ft. I changed a bit from the original knee pad because I felt too much of him looked organic and I didn't think I had enough hard surface to really get the contrast in the silhouette I was looking for. I hope the changes I made show thru in the final version. I still have a ton of detailing to finish.
That armor looks really muddy, not metallic and hard. You should try to have a sharper highpoly. Looks like you sculpted everything with the standard brush ^^. Hard surface is... well... hard to do in ZBrush. But there are some tools like Trimdynamic, H-polish or Pinch which will help.
Also, 6200 polys, or tris ? If it's tris, you could add some definition into the silhouette, the limit is 15 000.
