Something wrong with my 3ds max 2012 uv window

I know this question has been asked before, but from what I see its always weak hardware at fault. The problem is when I select uvs in the uv window the software is unbearably slow. I can get stuff done. And yes, I unchecked the constant update in the preferences.



I believe my system should have no problem

Amd 3.2ghz 6 cores
16gig of ram
Dual amd radeon HD 6850
ssd hard drive

But maybe I am missing something here... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i basicly have the same pc, but only 1 graphics card and everything runs just fine. Have you tried to disable crossfire while working in max?

Download the latest service packs/patches/updates (whatever the correct name is).

That should fix it (in the case that you haven't fully updated max yet), had the same problem, and that was the solution, also read it somewhere else on the forum that it was caused by max not being up to date.

Turned off one of my video cards and it fixed the problem. Go figure. Thanks guys.
