Yup, those new shots really sell the scene for me, my fav is the one with the chair : ) Kinda wish the chair had popped out more, maybe if it had some peeled paint on it in another color etc. Still, looking good and great progress on this scene!
Great work my friend! I really like the hanging flag, Kinda makes feel like whatever world this is in, that the day the world went bad was like the 4th of July or something.
Congrats on the NDO plug. The scene is looking really nice
Only real piece of feedback from me is the height fog in the lower left part of screenshot is a bit too dense and confined compared to the rest of the scene and for me its almost making the building look like its floating
Can't wait to see what you work on next, keep up the good work
Love this piece. The overgrown foliage is outstanding, and the overall mood I get is a combination of Bioshock Infinite and Uncharted. Definitely an inspiration in my current piece...which I'll slowly keep working on as I find time.
I think this is awesome work! The only thing that is getting me is that you have that flag. You have a fully gown tree on the top of the building. That tree would have taken 30-40 years to grow; there is no way that flag would have stood the test of time that long. It would all be gone. Also allot of the windows would have shattered by then.
really cool man. My only critique is maybe the greens of the foliage are a little too monochrome. It might look cool to work in some pale greens, dark greens, blue greens, yellow greens, brown greens etc etc.
It might even be worth while to make a new plant types to push this concept further.
Thanks a lot for the comments guys! I appreciate all the help. As of right now I think I will take a break from it, I may come back to it soon and add/fix more stuff, as far as adding some cars, very possible
This is really amazing. Nice work, and really great for your first city. To add to the other suggestions I would recommend more fourth of july stuff to really show that that's what happened.
Thanks! and Thanks for the suggestion. I am tempted to head back and work on a few things , but time is holding me back, and I am working on another environment. I know I will be back to it, but I will keep this in mind for sure!
This is a really good piece.I am loving everything about it.I noticed in the previous screenshots, the pics had jagged edges around them,i am guessing the screens were grabbed from the viewport,so how did u eliminate the jagged edges in the final screenshots?
Thank you,
Well in the previous screenshots I don't believe I used any AA,. I don't do viewport grabs unless they are really quick wip shots. I go in game and you the -screenshot command. I hope that helps!
You could also try using -tiledshot 2 in game if you want a bit higher resolution. That will eliminate some of the AA issues when you downrez it I believe.
Hello!
It's been a very long time since I have posted in this thread. I'm excited to say that The Overgrown City is making a comeback!! slowly but surely (I am working on a few other things as well) When I finished this in July of last year I figured that I would go back to it, especially with all the feedback still coming in. I am ready to make this look even better with the new things I've learned.
I changed a few things already and took a bunch of new screenshots! I'm excited to get back and expand this environment. Sorry for the wall of new screens.

I shall be updating with some progress as soon as I have more Thanks for looking.
Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll fix that, I think I know what I did wrong there :P I'm probably going to change some of the props, probably "remake" is the better word for that but I am also probably going to add on in some way. I had some sections already being built to make it bigger, but never finished it. but yeah I'm mostly tweaking some things, but will add some additional things while I can, I was still getting some feedback when I was finished so I plan on working that in.

Also, any plans to add a dilapidated car or two>?

How bout scattered confetti everywhere, party blowers, an abandoned float, etc.
Just a few ideas. You don't want to go overboard but I feel like a busted up old or overgrown float could look awesome.

Definitely sort out those black shadows though, that looks a bit odd. What changes are you making exactly?
